The addiction begins

Sunday, 8 June 2008

It’s been on our screens as long as Bush has been in the Whitehouse and arguably seen as many changes. If there was ever cases for the often quoted ”don’t vote it’ll only encourage them” they are it. Yes the summer addiction we love to hate is back. Big Brother 9 spilled onto our screens thursday night with the words “Britain’s not got talent” and so our favourite irritation began. And there’s plenty to scratch this year as sixteen housemates compete for the big cash and the nations hearts (or vilification) over 93 days.

So who’s getting to you already? Is it the pussy nailing Dale or the cookie crumbling Katheya? Will Rex ride your affections or is it strictly Sylvia all the way? Are you taking Davina labelled “stocking botherer” Michael into your heart or is Rachel’s breast eye level height swinging it for you? Will Mohammed’s Afro become your style of choice or is Alexandra’s self –made assurance ticking your box? Could Max & Lisa satisfy your couple cravings or is the thought of Stephanie getting in on the act too much to resist? Will Jennifer’s views make you switch off or is Darnell your viewing pleasure of choice? And will Luke ever chill out? Compared to Rebecca he’s positively calm. (Stop screaming already!) And of course the big RCN question has to be, is Dennis gay enough to last the length?

Questions, questions, questions. Big Brother 9. Making us miss Anna and Brian already, but essential viewing? See you by the water cooler.

Interesting to see the poll! Leaning towards the hate it at the mo. Is that cos we end up watching it and wonder half way through why?

Is it like the kids TV Show - "Why don't you turn off your TV and go and do something more interesting instead??"

Make it stop, make it stop!

I have complete faith in the Real City audience... the poll will show that we universally hate it! Although maybe we'll secretly be loving to hate it... damn it!

Why is the token gay guy always the annoying, over-camp, bitchy type?

I'd love it if one year, the gay guy was just a "normal" guy (like Richard was)who's a teacher or something rather than some screaming Hyaena!

I definitely won't be watching it, my blood pressure seems to go up within 5 minutes of watching these awful people.

Of course, as soon as this is over, it's X-Factor Time, by which time it will be Christmas, then Dancing On Ice before Britain's Got Talent.... the TV Schedules are making my life rush by...!
