Bear Pride 2008

Release the inner bear, cub and ted in you. It’s Bear Pride and all those lovely beards, bellies and grizzled men (plus their admirers) are planning to celebrate. And celebrate and celebrate. With events planned around the country including a XXL Bear Pride Parties in London and Birmingham, Fusion and the ever-steamy Wet Bears at Chariots in Shoreditch, 2008 looks like being a feast of fun, fur and fabulousness.

Now in it’s 6th year, Bear Pride was conceived by XXL’s Mark Ames who decided that he wanted to bring the Bear Community together in celebration as well as giving something back to that community and so ‘Bear Necessities’ was launched, London’s first Bear Pride event. And with parties galore and over £50,000 raised for charities including British Heart Foundation, Terrence Higgins Trust and The Albert Kennedy Trust since those humble bear beginnings in 2003 it looks like Ames has delivered.

We recommend heading down to Bear Pride’s neck of the woods this weekend. Grr!
